The sisters Von Tree have had little teasers of their background added to the site.
You can find that here. How did they get so batty and cheeky? 😉

We closed out the convention with a wonderful turn out for our Wormwood Queen’s Tea & Tasseomancy panel where she taught convention goers how to read tea leaves. After that her gentleman served as master of ceremonies for tea dueling. Yes! Tea dueling! It’s a thing. Bella was our littlest and most adorable tea shoppe-keeper. And let us not forget our mischievously mustached table monkeys who helped out.

Our first day at the Motor City Steam Con was busy and found us quickly trying to find our convention legs. While our writer lady Miss Blue has been doing steampunk conventions since 2010, this is actually the very first steampunk event for the Orange Moon Tea Society. We were tapped to provide teas and tea leaf readings for the con’s Occult Tea event. Pictured here is a glimpse of the beautiful spread for the late tea and our Wormwood Queen giving the room a reading. Last but certainly cutest, her imps Bella and Gabe ready for world adventure.

Do you like spirit boards? Our society is a little mixed on the subject. Some of the ladies think they make lovely Halloween decorations. However, there was the incident with Lurva LaRue who accidentally nudged the planchette of one and ended up in a screaming match with someone from beyond the veil. The argument? She was not prepared to take on the responsibility of being a ghostly telegraph message deliverer when she had a hard enough time keeping up correspondence with her own kids! These designs are called functional art and include our O.M.T.S. logo and our wonderful tea bats. These items will be for sale at our sister shoppe The Attic Shoppe’s convention table.
We are pleased to announce that The Orange Moon Tea Society will be hosting the tea room at the Motor City Steam Con just outside of Detroit MI this coming July. You’ll be able to visit our tea room and sample our many wonderful tea flavors and maybe even get a tea leaf reading by our own Wormwood Queen. We’ll also be hosting a few special events like Occult Tea where you can take in the full ritual of Absinthe Tea and learn a bit about Victorian Spiritualism. Our Snapdragon Tea chronicler Bethalynne will also be a guest artist at the event. The convention takes place the weekend of July 22 thru 24. You can find more information about venue, hotel reservations and the like by visiting the convention’s site at: MotorCitySteamCon.com — More info to come!
