A Flower Pixie Finds a Good Home
This gal did a wonderfully dedicated campaign through her family to get this pixie. Finally her uncle nabbed it for her while she was in the costume competition. Seeing how excited she got when I handed it to her afterwards was priceless.
The International Steampunk Symposium
Are you in the Blue Ash area for the Symposium? Stop by and say hello! We are located in Hall E the Carpenter’s Run, just outside of Conference Room I. We’re across from the ever wonderful author Leanna Renee Hieber and next to PicklePot – Jen makes some absolutely gorgeous jewelry by the way. We have all of our decks available, along with a table hosting our art print shop. There’s a lot of steampunk and Lovecraft inspired art going on!
Day III at the Motor City Steam Con
We closed out the convention with a wonderful turn out for our Wormwood Queen’s Tea & Tasseomancy panel where she taught convention goers how to read tea leaves. After that her gentleman served as master of ceremonies for tea dueling. Yes! Tea dueling! It’s a thing. Bella was our littlest and most adorable tea shoppe-keeper. And let us not forget our mischievously mustached table monkeys who helped out.
Day II at the Motor City Steam Con
Here are a few more snapshots of our day at the Motor City Steam Con in Livonia Michigan. Pictured here our vending table and our Wormwood Queen with her gent Ted and their wee one Bella. Our day was busy! Much Orange Moon Tea was served in the tea room!
Day I at the Motor City Steam Con
Our first day at the Motor City Steam Con was busy and found us quickly trying to find our convention legs. While our writer lady Miss Blue has been doing steampunk conventions since 2010, this is actually the very first steampunk event for the Orange Moon Tea Society. We were tapped to provide teas and tea leaf readings for the con’s Occult Tea event. Pictured here is a glimpse of the beautiful spread for the late tea and our Wormwood Queen giving the room a reading. Last but certainly cutest, her imps Bella and Gabe ready for world adventure.
The Motor City Steam Con
We are pleased to announce that The Orange Moon Tea Society will be hosting the tea room at the Motor City Steam Con just outside of Detroit MI this coming July. You’ll be able to visit our tea room and sample our many wonderful tea flavors and maybe even get a tea leaf reading by our own Wormwood Queen. We’ll also be hosting a few special events like Occult Tea where you can take in the full ritual of Absinthe Tea and learn a bit about Victorian Spiritualism. Our Snapdragon Tea chronicler Bethalynne will also be a guest artist at the event. The convention takes place the weekend of July 22 thru 24. You can find more information about venue, hotel reservations and the like by visiting the convention’s site at: MotorCitySteamCon.com — More info to come!
Back from the Steampunk Symposium
We brought out our first tea samples to the International Steampunk Symposium this past weekend -this was our tea station. We had 2 to 4 (depending on your preferred strength of tea) cup sampler tins for purchase. We brought four flavor samples and our larger tins so everyone could get a good look and smell of the loose tea before picking out a sample. I’m happy to report the samples were scooped up before the end of the convention. The front runner was our Snapdragon Tea with the new Batnip Tea a close second. Orange Moon and the Butterfly Circus were close on the other’s heels giving them the tea eye. Sadly we had no absinthe tea for the convention because we, not so sadly, found our samples sold before they got a chance to get there.
This was a wonderful real time experience to see how the teas would be received. We’re delighted it went so well. So now we’re ready to get some more packaging done, get our product shots in order and begin selling them online. We’re also going to be taking up a few offers to bring our tea society to events for summer. And! We’ve got some wonderful donated items to add to our IndieGoGo campaign!
And we are off!
While sadly our Wormwood Queen is still on the mend (damn those skate rink gremlin! *shaky fist*) Miss Blue has packed up the tea wagon and will be representing the Orange Moon Tea Society at The Attic Shoppe’s table in the convention’s vending hall. We have a quaint little display that features Tea Bat Lenormand decks, postcards, prints, and our very first available samples of four of our teas for purchase! You will find our new Batnip Tea, Orange Moon Tea, Snapdragon Tea, and Butterfly Circus Tea all represented. We’ll have cute little sample tins for nabbing and larger tins with samples to smell and look upon our rather attractive teas. If you happen to be attending, please stop by and say hello! And get your first sample of the Orange Moon Society Tea! For more convention information follow this link.
