Rumor has it that Flora Von Tree, with six of her favorite tea bats in tow, traveled to the mitten state to find a cartomancer. When she was with this person she had her tea bats perform for her and then, over a cup of batnip tea, spoke at length about how the Mad Hatter poem Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat had been a near obsession for her as a child. Long ago she could envision her bats becoming little tea trays in the sky and the idea soon spread to her sisters and then their bat emporium. Then she explained how she wanted to channel all of these things into her own lenormand deck and this is where the cartomancer, a maker of decks, came in. After an afternoon of good tea and conversation, they began work on what would become the Tea Bats own Lenormand deck. It was one part time aged paper, another part bat-tea, and finally a lot of imagination.
Setting aside our Orange Moon Tea Society fiction, the Tea Bats Lenormand deck is a very real thing! Our deck creator Bethalynne crafted this deck a few years ago when our society was first starting to share our tea and tales through the aetherwebs. Below are card samples of the entire first edition of the deck. As of autumn of 2017 this edition has been retired and only available when the random deck pops up; which does happen. The deck has been revamped a little and now available in its second edition. If you’re unfamiliar with what a lenormand deck is, you can follow our learn the lenormand with this tag and get a better idea.
